There is good news!
Dear colleagues,
If we want to make a difference, we have to learn to separate the essential from the non-essential. Everyone is aware of the constant challenge we face when everyday life and routine take their toll on us.
At his inauguration, General Lyndon Buckingham formulated three major thoughts/ideas that focus on the essentials and get to the heart of our mission. Our Territorial Management has now taken this as an opportunity to simplify Vision 2030 in line with the three big ideas.
But take a look for yourself and be inspired by our short explanatory video:

The General's three big ideas:
- Talk about Jesus – share the good news of the gospel
- Show people Jesus - through practical action and demonstrations of God’s love
- Become like Jesus – being holy!
Our Vision 2030 at a glance:
We have summarised Vision 2030 for you in a simple and easy-to-understand website. Take your time, whether alone or in a group, and be inspired by the three main ideas and Vision 2030:

Excursus: Over the past two years, we have been working on Vision 2030 as part of the ‘we-process’ in Germany in order to understand and realise the essence of The Salvation Army. In doing so, we realised the great complexity that arises from our historical heritage and the many social challenges we face. We have not succeeded in formulating a simple formula for our vision. However, the intensive dialogue about our values, goals and tasks in the working groups can already be considered a success. Some answers and solutions have also been found and implemented.
Examples:
- Our communication has become more value-based and our Christian roots are now an integral part of our brand message.
- Networking and dialogue have increased significantly, not least thanks to the Celebration Meetings in the territory.
The General's three main ideas provide us with orientation. Vision 2030 delivers pragmatic tips for implementation. Now it is up to us to integrate the guidelines into our everyday lives.
As the Apostle Paul said, 'now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus' - Ephesians 3:20-21
I send you my warmest greetings and wish you a blessed time.
Yours
Manfred Simon
